Research Project: COVID 19- HR Impacts and Responses

 In Compensation Management, Employee Benefits, Salaries & Incentives

Since the announcement in early 2020 of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Canadian organizations sought to mitigate COVID-19’s impact on operations by adapting working conditions, permanently or temporarily laying off employees, changing compensation plans, or applying to government support programs.

This research project covered:

  • changes companies have made due to COVID-19 (salaries, bonuses, paid time off, group benefits, retirement plans etc.);
  • strategies used in the gradual return to normal (remote working, workspace re-configuration, reduced hours etc.); and
  • future plans (salary increases, preparedness for a second wave etc.).
